Player profiles and coaching observations

Profiles should capture observable information that helps a coach teach, communicate, and choose appropriate responsibilities. They should not contain medical information, speculation, or insulting labels.

• Preferred or secondary positions
• Teaching cues that have worked
• Observable strengths and development priorities
• Dated practice or game observations

Make each note specific enough that another authorized coach can act on it.

1. 1Describe the situation and behavior you observed.
2. 2Record the coaching cue or adjustment that followed.
3. 3Note the result without making a permanent prediction about the player.
4. 4Revisit older observations and add new evidence rather than rewriting history.

Player profiles and observations are coach-private team information. Limit access to authorized adults and avoid entering highly sensitive personal information.
