Use it for the moment

The whiteboard is for quick communication: a leverage reminder, alignment correction, route adjustment, or opponent look. It is a game-specific scratch space, not a second playbook.

  • Open it from the Game Day header
  • Open it from Menu → Whiteboard
  • Open it from Live calls → Live whiteboard
  • Use the pregame board before a game is active
  • Use the game-specific board after the game starts
02

Make a readable adjustment

Keep the drawing simpler than a full play diagram. The control map below shows the real sideline whiteboard and the tools beneath the field.

White ink
High-contrast neutral coaching marks on the dark field.
Green ink
Matches offensive markers and primary TactiFlag field accents.
Blue, gold, and pink ink
Separate routes, leverage, defenders, or coaching responsibilities by your own convention.
Line width
Changes new strokes from fine detail to a bold sideline-visible path.
Solid
Draws a continuous line for the selected path.
Dotted
Draws a dotted path for motion, disguise, or another staff-defined meaning.
Correct lines

Saved on this device
Confirms the current board has been preserved locally.
03

Place offense, defense, and the ball

Marker tools add one object with each tap. Offensive players are numbered automatically in placement order; defensive markers are blue Xs; the ball uses a football symbol.

  1. 1Choose Offense and tap each offensive landmark on the field.
  2. 2Choose Defense and tap each defender or leverage point.
  3. 3Choose Ball and tap its current location.
  4. 4If a marker is misplaced, choose Erase and tap near it, or choose Undo immediately.
  5. 5Keep the number of markers limited to the players involved in the adjustment.
04

Draw routes and coaching marks

Draw is freehand by default. Each completed stroke keeps the color, width, and Solid or Dotted style selected when it was created.

  1. 1Choose Draw.
  2. 2Choose the ink color and line width.
  3. 3Choose Solid or Dotted.
  4. 4Press on the starting landmark, draw the full path, and release at the endpoint.
  5. 5Repeat with another color or style only when the difference has a clear coaching meaning.
05

Erase, undo, or clear

Choose the smallest correction that fixes the board.

ControlBest use
EraseTap near one marker or stroke to remove that item.
UndoRestore the board to its state before the most recent completed action. Up to the recent working history is retained while the board stays open.
ClearRemove the entire board. The first tap arms the action; choose Clear now to confirm.
06

Understand saving and recovery

The board saves on the device as it changes. A prepared team also stores the game board in the offline workspace for recovery. The caption above the field reports Restoring, Saving, Saved on this device, or a storage error.

  1. 1Wait for Saved on this device before leaving the board when practical.
  2. 2Choose Done or Close to return to Game Day.
  3. 3Open Whiteboard again to confirm the game-specific sketch returns.
  4. 4If saving fails, keep the board open and free device storage.
  5. 5After reconnecting, allow the prepared team workspace to synchronize before relying on another device.
07

Move a lasting adjustment into the playbook

When the sideline idea should be practiced or called again, rebuild it as a play rather than treating the whiteboard as the official version.

  1. 1Take note of the formation, landmarks, and coaching purpose before clearing the board.
  2. 2After the game, open Playbook and create a new play or variation.
  3. 3Use the Play Editor’s route, motion, and ball tools to reproduce the adjustment precisely.
  4. 4Add coaching details and situation tags.
  5. 5Save, preview, and include it in the next practice install.
